Intuitive Research and Technology Corporation (INTUITIVE) presented the 2011 Bob Ryland Scholarship to Ms. Yeymi Palacios on July 29, 2011. Ms. Palacios is a 2011 graduate from Butler High School in Huntsville, AL, and will be the first of her immediate family to attend college at Calhoun Community College, majoring in engineering. This is the eighth year in a row INTUITIVE has honored Mr. Robert K. Ryland, a friend, mentor and role model to Mr. A.R. (Rey) Almodóvar, INTUITIVE’s co-founder and Chief Executive Officer, by reaching out to the young Hispanic community and providing scholarships to deserving Hispanic students. The scholarship is awarded based on academic achievement, personal traits, extracurricular activities and leadership potential. Upon the scholarship award Mr. Almodóvar stated;
“We are proud to recognize both Ms. Palacios for receiving this year’s scholarship, and Mr. Ryland for the example he inspired us with. All of us at INTUITIVE are honored to follow in Mr. Ryland’s steps by supporting and mentoring the youth, and encouraging traits of honesty, respect and integrity among young students. We wish Ms. Palacios the very best in all of her future endeavors and congratulate her on her well-deserved award.”
